Study Tours


At the beginning of each term of study, students have the opportunity to earn three academic credits by attending an academic study tour. Following the tour, students return to the American College Dublin campus, where they begin the remainder of their courses with ACD students.

All study tours are offered at an additional cost. Options include:

HUM 495 Italy: International Studies in Art & Humanities


A 10-day tour exploring the artistic and historical riches of Italy. The tour involves some lectures and field trips to sites in Rome and Florence with completion of the course in Dublin (offered spring, fall and summer).

HIS 482: Irish History Seminar


A 10-day seminar course to study the main movements in Irish history and their place in the wider European historical perspective. The seminar involves lectures and field trips to historical sites throughout Dublin (offered spring, fall and summer).

BUS 495: Irish Commerce Study Tour


A 10-day comprehensive tour throughout Ireland that involves on-site observation of business operations through contact with the Irish hospitality industry. Students can experience three- and four-star Irish hotels and restaurants firsthand (offered during the summer).

ACD study abroad students can choose to take classes while they intern, or focus solely on their internship during their time in Dublin.
