What are the eligibility requirements for study abroad students?
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; have at least a 2.5 GPA; and be a second semester freshman, sophomore, or junior. Interested students must complete the ACD Study Abroad Application (link to Apply Now section), submit a transcript from their home institution, and pay the $35 non-refundable application fee. After acceptance, further travel documentation and an enrollment deposit is required.
For what terms of study is the program offered?
Study abroad students may enroll in spring, summer, and/or fall semester. They may also participate in our internship program (link to internship page) during any of these semesters.
What are the fees for the different terms of study?
American College Dublin is a private, fee-paying college. Fees vary by program and semester. Please click on the link below to view our current fee sheet.

Are scholarships available?
Each semester ACD offers scholarships of up to $2000.00. Please speak to a study abroad admissions counselor to find out what scholarships are available for application.
How do I know credits earned at ACD are valid toward my degree?
Your advisor at your home institution and the study abroad advisor at American College will work to ensure your credits will apply to your degree.
Once accepted to ACD, take the ACD proposed course listings to your academic advisor at your home institution. He/she will help you to determine which courses will fit your degree program.
Complete the ACD registration form, and have your advisor sign the form verifying your course selections. Send the registration form to the ACD Study Abroad Office. Your study abroad advisor at American College will register you for classes.
Where is ACD located?
ACD is located in the heart of Dublin, Ireland's capital city. It occupies three restored Georgian houses on historic Merrion Square, including the former home of famed Irish author Oscar Wilde. The campus is close to shopping, restaurants, nightlife, theaters, and other entertainment options.
What living arrangements are available for study abroad students?
Study abroad students may choose suite-style housing (shared quarters with other ACD students) or host family accommodation in the home of an Irish family.
What is the typical class schedule?
A typical class day, based on a 12-15 credit schedule, is 1-3 hours of class time, and an expected 1-3 hours of out of class work time.
How do I arrange an internship?
Students interested in the ACD internship program will need to meet all study abroad program requirement, complete an internship application (link to internship page) and submit necessary paperwork. An ACD internship coordinator will help you to secure placement in an appropriate company. Acceptance of your internship application does not guarantee placement.
What visa requirements exist for study abroad students?
Visa requirements vary by country. An ACD admissions coordinator will contact you regarding your specific visa requirements after you acceptance into the study abroad program.
